Kitchen Helper & Light Housekeeping Job Summary

Alberta Ballet School Residence is looking for a hard-working helper to assist with kitchen duties, serving catered meals and other residence prep/cleaning tasks. Your primary role will be setting up, serving, and cleaning up the catered meals. You will be asked to make basic meals for students who choose not to eat the catered meals. In addition, prepping fruit and veggie trays, and putting student names on premade meals. At times we may also require an extra hand with general housekeeping duties and light administration. Our mealtimes can be a high-stress environment, so we prefer applicants who have some prior experience and ability to multi-task. You must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift at least 20 lbs.

Kitchen Helper Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of food preparation and serving areas
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils etc.
  • Assist with basic food preparation
  • Prepare simple individual meals as required
  • Serve catered meals and support meal service
  • Sanitize common areas regularly
  • Complete laundry
  • Vacuum designated areas
  • Perform general cleaning, tidying, and organizing duties
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store groceries, food, and other deliveries
  • Support move-out cleaning and move-in setup tasks
  • Assist with additional tasks as required

Kitchen Helper Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Some kitchen experience preferred but not necessary
  • Bilingual communication skills a plus
