Sortino's-Lead Cook
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Lead Cook for our Sortino's Italian Kitchen TeamIn this role, your responsibilities will include basic food preparation while using and learning proper use of kitchen equipment. Additionally, assist in maintaining the company standard of cleanliness, sanitation and safety in the kitchen.
As part of our team, you'll embody our Promise to Lead with Love-guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. Your professionalism and helpful attitude will set the tone for a positive overall impression of the Kalahari.
Starting Rate: $20.00 an Hour
Key Responsibilities
  • Excellent interpersonal service skills and organizational skills to plan time effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, work under pressure and meet deadlines with particular attention to detail.
  • Ability to get along well with others, to demonstrate flexibility and patience, to work as a member of a team.
  • Good knowledge of food trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentations.

What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years' experience in a high-volume restaurant or other dining venue working in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook and expediter.
  • 1 year of culinary supervisory experience in food service, fine dining, or restaurant preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a stationary position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Must be able to work and be flexible with all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must possess the ability to access all areas of the kitchen, the ability to move frequently & freely about facility.
