Kitchen Team Member

At Wally’s, The Home of the Great American Road Trip, our Kitchen Team Members help deliver the fresh food, speed, and hospitality that make us a favorite stop for guests. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in food quality, and wants to be part of a team that keeps operations running smoothly.

In this position, you’ll prepare menu items, maintain clean and organized workstations, follow food safety standards, and support daily kitchen production. We’re looking for dependable team members who can work with urgency, follow standards, and help create a great experience for every guest.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare food items according to Wally’s recipes, portion standards, and procedures

  • Assist with cooking, assembling, and serving menu items

  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitized workstations at all times

  • Follow food safety, sanitation, handwashing, glove use, and cross-contamination procedures

  • Operate kitchen equipment and use utensils safely and correctly

  • Stock, rotate, and store food and supplies properly

  • Follow FIFO practices to maintain freshness and reduce waste

  • Notify leadership when products, ingredients, or supplies are running low

  • Work closely with team members, Leads, and Managers to keep kitchen operations moving efficiently

  • Provide friendly, respectful service when interacting with guests

  • Report equipment issues, hazards, or safety concerns immediately

  • Support other departments or special events as needed

What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Previous food service, restaurant, kitchen, line cook, prep cook, or quick-service experience preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation

  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment and follow recipes and prep instructions

  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and communication skills
