Evansville Manor a skilled nursing facility in the Eden Senior Care Network, is now hiring a Dietary Aide!

Position: Dietary Aide (Part-time)

Work Schedule: 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM


Main responsibilities:
  • Assist with food preparation, portioning, and serving of non-entrée items such as desserts, salads, nourishments, and beverages.
  • Assist the cook and dietary team as directed.
  • Wash dishes, silverware, pots, and pans; store clean items properly.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, floors, work areas, and other assigned areas.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, infection control, and proper food-handling procedures.
  • Properly store, label, thaw, cool, and reheat food according to established guidelines.
  • Monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures and report issues to the Food Service Director.
  • Handle trash and maintain a clean, neat, and organized work area.
  • Follow safety procedures and properly use kitchen equipment and protective equipment.
  • Respect residents' rights and maintain confidentiality of protected health information.
  • Report resident complaints, safety concerns, abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of property to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Attend required training, meetings, and educational programs.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and comply with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of food preparation areas
  • Serving food to residents in the lunchroom/bringing food to residents in their rooms
  • Cleaning eating areas after meals
  • Bringing in delivered food items from vendors providers and stocking the pantry/fridge/freezer
  • Adhering to all health and safety procedures during the process of food preparation

Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Cook or Dietary Aide in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand written directions.
  • Previous dietary or food service experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand movements as needed.
  • Ability to work in an indoor kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold, and wet conditions.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety.
  • Ability to work professionally and respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Must maintain proper hygiene, grooming, and dress standards.
  • Must comply with company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
