Come join our team today as an Account Manager in the Richmond, VA market. As Account Manager, you will be responsible for selling to existing customers, cross‑selling, upselling, and growing existing business. You will also be responsible for managing all aspects of the customer relationship, including evaluating the relationship, identifying customer tendencies and preferences, cultivating the relationship, anticipating customer objections and concerns, and addressing and resolving customer issues. You will also provide consultation and advice to Meyer Lab regarding sales and product strategy based on your customer expertise. Using your technical & mechanical aptitude, you will be responsible for maintaining all dispensing equipment used with Meyer Lab products.

Job Duties
  • Drive Account Expansion – Sell to existing customers, uncover cross-sell/upsell opportunities, and nurture and expand relationships within customer accounts. Build and maintain brand presence and loyalty within assigned accounts and propel displacement of competitors.
  • Customer Service and Maintenance – Manage all aspects of the customer relationship. Maximize customer success outcomes leveraging Meyer’s products and expertise. Build and execute on account plans to drive seamless product delivery and increase account penetration. Conduct regular account reviews with customers to ensure continued understanding of their needs and uncover new opportunities. Anticipate and resolve customer objections or concerns.
  • Preventative Maintenance – Maintain and maximize dispensing equipment efficiency through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Average 6‑8 in‑person sales calls per day.
  • Administrative duties including order processing, building service calendar, updating notes and entering sales orders through our CRM (Oracle NetSuite). Additional duties include, but are not limited to, inventory & Accounts Receivable support
  • Travel up to 250‑mile radius in territory weekly
  • In rare cases, potential for 2 overnights a month
Territory Coverage

This position services Richmond metro, East to Virginia Beach, and Southwest to Hillsville

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of quota‑carrying sales experience as an industrial account manager or similar type role preferred.
  • Track record of increasing account penetration.
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships with an industrial customer base.
  • Excellent leadership and strong ability of working with and indirectly managing sales support colleagues.
  • Must currently have or be able to obtain and maintain CDL‑C within first 90 days of employment.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Hazardous Materials Endorsement.
  • Excellent work history
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs regularly and capable of climbing at heights with proper safety equipment provided.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
