Position Overview:
Chaska High School is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and experienced Dance Team Coach (Jazz & High Kick) to lead our high school dance program. The ideal candidate will foster technical skill development, teamwork, and a positive student-athlete experience while building a competitive and respected program in accordance with Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) rules and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities










  • Plan and lead practices, performances, and competitions in jazz and high kick
  • Choreograph routines aligned with high school competition standards
  • Develop dancers' technique, performance quality, and teamwork
  • Promote academic success, leadership, and character development
  • Ensure compliance with MSHSL, school, and district policies
  • Manage team equipment, costumes, and program logistics
  • Support offseason training and program growth


Qualifications

  • Previous coaching, teaching, or competitive experience in dance (jazz/high kick preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of dance technique, choreography, and performance training
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
  • Must meet all district background and employment requirements


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior high school dance coaching experience
  • Experience choreographing competitive routines
  • Background in competitive dance teams, studio instruction, or collegiate dance programs
  • Experience coordinating youth dance programs or camps
