JOB TITLE:
Maintenance Equipment Technician
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Maintenance Equipment Technicians are responsible for the repair and maintenance of PLC-controlled, robotic, welding and material handling systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Troubleshoot various equipment issues and determine if the problem is mechanical, electrical or from the systems controlling process.
  • Follow directions and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Work with hand tools and various instruments (wrenches, multimeters, etc.).
  • Use measurement tools to verify that components meet print specifications (calipers, indicators, etc.).
  • Work as a member of a production team, co-operations with FPG's management in an effective manner to perform work of a high quality with minimal error.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Work with co-workers, customers and/or vendors in a courteous and tactful manner to resolve issues as they arise.
Create and conduct machine/equipment preventative maintenance activities.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
A 2-year degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred, or a minimum of 2 years' experience in an industrial multi-craft and/or automation position.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Industrial automation knowledge including but not limited to PLC's, servo drives, VFD's, sensors, material handling systems, hydraulic and robotics systems.
  • Ability to read and update electrical schematics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Basic computer skills.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience with Omron, Allen Bradley, Keyence, or Mitsubishi PLCs would be a plus.
  • Experience with 6-Axis robots Fanuc/Yaskawa (Motoman) would be a plus.
  • Complete assignments with minimal direction and/or supervision; able to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Maintain a positive attitude under stress.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to understand and follow company standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
