Summary

The Key Account Manager owns the client relationship and the growth plan for a book of Tier 1-3 refreshment accounts. The role is accountable for keeping the revenue AFV has already won and growing it through cross-sell, new sites and client headcount expansion. Success is measured on retention, book growth and the strength of the executive relationships behind both.

Responsibilities

  • Own retention on an assigned book of strategic Tier 1-3 accounts, including renewal, pricing conversations and contract compliance.
  • Grow the book by selling additional service lines, capturing new client sites and following client headcount growth. Carry an annual growth target.
  • Build and maintain relationships above the day-to-day contact, including facility, workplace experience, HR and finance stakeholders.
  • Lead Executive Business Reviews on the tier cadence, presenting performance, value delivered and a forward growth roadmap.
  • Build and maintain a written growth plan for every Tier 1 and Tier 2 account, with named cross-sell, site and headcount opportunities.
  • Classify every account by Tier, Growth and Health, keep the classification current, and submit changes for sales leadership approval.
  • Monitor account health signals including NPS, ticket volume, receivables and contact changes. Escalate at-risk accounts and build a save plan with owners and dates.
  • Partner with the Business Development Manager on large or complex expansions and with operations on service delivery, escalating issues rather than absorbing operational work.
  • Maintain accurate account, contact, renewal and pipeline data in Salesforce, and forecast the book accurately.
  • Maintain working knowledge of micro market, office coffee, pantry and vending offerings and the direction of the category.
  • May be assigned other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years managing a book of B2B accounts with responsibility for retention and revenue growth. Food service, facilities services, route-based services or a related industry preferred.This is a role that is heavily in the field visiting with clients. 
  • Demonstrated record of growing existing accounts, with specific numbers.
  • Experience running executive-level business reviews and presenting performance data to client leadership.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build a business case and ask for the order.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a multi-account book without daily direction, and set own account cadence.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or a comparable CRM, including forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory. Some overnight travel required.
  • Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation.
