Job purpose
The Fitness Center Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional service to Members and Guests of the Wellness and Fitness Center. This role includes greeting Members and Guests, managing appointment scheduling, and assisting with general inquiries regarding the center's amenities.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Warmly greet Members and Guests upon arrival at the Wellness and Fitness Center.
  • Manage front desk operations, including answering telephones and performing administrative duties.
  • Assist Members and Guests with inquiries related to the fitness center and its services.
  • Schedule appointments for amenities (i.e. sauna, cold plunge, physical therapy, personal training, massage therapy).
  • Conduct tours of the center and provide information regarding membership benefits.
  • Open and close the fitness center, ensuring all procedures are followed.
  • Listen to Member concerns, suggestions, and complaints, addressing them promptly or directing them to the appropriate management team member.
  • Assist Members with the use of fitness center apps, member portals, or any technology used for reservations or scheduling.
  • Enforce building policies and procedures, including the dress code for Members and Guests.
  • Distribute towels and ensure the fitness center is fully stocked with the necessary supplies.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and follow proper procedures when required
  • Report any incidents, including injuries, thefts, or broken equipment, to management.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and participate in required training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
High School diploma; one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and mornings
Working conditions
Work is primarily indoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and/or exposure to flying golf balls.

Physical requirements
Good organizational and verbal skills. Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues. Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, monitors and develops subordinates, visually monitor the operation areas, write and read member communication.
Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 40 lbs. Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, lifting and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting. Ability to consistently lift, carry and load adaptive and other sports equipment that may weigh 50 or more pounds, and sustain aerobic activity for 20 consecutive minutes.
Please be advised that all work that requires the use of a ladder more than 8 ft. long must be reviewed by Hampton Golf's Club Maintenance person. Following an assessment of the situation, a determination will be made as to whether a maintenance team member or subcontractors will perform the necessary maintenance task. No other staff member is authorized to climb to heights exceeding 8 ft. and/or perform such maintenance. In addition, personnel are prohibited from entering facility attics, walking on the roof of buildings and/or from using scaffolding.
