Overall Position Purpose

The Director, Partnership and Growth - Kenya is responsible for leading market development, strategic growth, and ecosystem engagement initiatives that advance Inteleos' mission of promoting equitable and quality healthcare in Kenya. This role will spearhead the regional strategy of Inteleos Africa and build strong, collaborative partnerships across public and private sectors to expand maternal and fetal health initiatives, including ultrasound training and certification programs. This position is central to advocating for healthcare workforce development and entrepreneurship within the region and serves as the primary external representative of Inteleos in Kenya. The Director, Partnership and Growth - Kenya will promote and support the Inteleos culture of inclusivity.

Core Responsibilities

• Execute Inteleos Africa’s strategic direction in Kenya, focused on the pillars of Quality, Agency, and Access;
• Drive adoption and maintenance of national ultrasound certification standards through strategic collaboration with regulatory bodies such as Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) and National Nursing Council of Kenya (NNCK);
• Design career development and entrepreneurship programs for healthcare workers, including ultrasound training and certification, in partnership with the Kenyan Ministry of Health and academic institutions;
• Build trusted relationships with public and private healthcare leaders to expand the adoption of portable ultrasound training and certification programs;
• Serve as principal representative to identify, engage, and secure strategic partnerships with government, NGOs, donor organizations, healthcare institutions, and other stakeholders;
• Advocate for integration of ultrasound certification into national health policies, standards, and clinical practices;
• Champion the strategic direction of high-impact training and certification programs, ensuring alignment with local healthcare priorities and global best practices;
• Support local customization and cultural adaptation of educational materials and engagement strategies;
• Ensure Inteleos’ partnership activities in Kenya uphold Inteleos’ ethical and quality assurance standards;
• Develop marketing and outreach materials tailored to Kenya’s healthcare market, in collaboration with global teams;
• Foster a culture of collaboration and trust across external stakeholders, partners, and contributors;
• Represent Inteleos at key events, forums, and strategic discussions in Kenya and the East Africa region; and
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment 

The incumbent will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, with regular travel throughout the country and occasional international travel. The incumbent will work at a desk in an office environment or an approved remote location. The role may require evening or weekend work. There are minimal requirements to lift or move equipment.

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in public health, healthcare management, business, or related field or equivalent experience in related field; 
• Minimum of five years of senior-level experience in healthcare, startups, entrepreneurship, or international development, preferably focused on partnership development, maternal and child health, or medical education/certification; 
• Fluency in English; and
• Proficiency in Kiswahili, preferred.

• Ability to anticipate potential risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies;
• Capable of analyzing problems rigorously and from all angles, showing sound practical judgment;
• Ability to sustain a positive attitude in challenging situations;
• Consistent attention to detail and follow-through skills; and
• High level of proficiency with technology tools and systems, with the ability to quickly learn and apply new platforms and applications.
