Description
The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located inbeautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence,preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.
We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Charge Nurse.This position will serve in the role of Charge Nurse and supervise professional and ancillary employees in theadministration of efficient nursing care.
Required to have an active, unrestricted and probated status as a Registered Nurse on the KBN licensure verification.
Skill and expectations for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Administer medications and treatments, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans.

This agency is prohibited from hiring employees with convictions identified in 906 KAR 1:190. A fingerprint-supported national background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment.
This position, in Hopkins County has an approved Locality Premium of $14.36 in compliance with 101 KAR2:034 Section 9(1).
This job classification is approved for the following shift premiums, in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(2), which are applied to the base salary:
  • Second & Third shift: 15%
  • Weekend: 25%
  • Holidays: 25%

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:See Special Requirements.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Must have two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.
