On-Site Construction Manager—6+ Month Contract | Competitive Pay & Benefits | Ashburn, VA
Are you passionate about managing complex technical projects and delivering results in a fast-paced environment? Join a team of forward-thinking industry experts and help lead large-scale engineering and system integration initiatives for clients across diverse sectors, including Life Sciences, Mission Critical, Metals & Mining, Warehousing & Distribution, and CPG/Food & Beverage.
As our On-Site Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing project installations, ensuring technical success, and maintaining clear communication between clients, contractors, and internal teams. This is a hands-on, local role in the Ashburn area, requiring on-site presence to keep projects on track and exceed client expectations.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Manage the scope and schedule of low voltage subcontractor installations for Data Center projects.
  • Deliver installation phases of projects on time and within budget, in alignment with lead project manager requirements.
  • Facilitate communication between clients, subcontractors, and the internal project team.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop labor resource plans and quality control strategies supporting schedule and budget goals.
  • Maintain firm control of scope, compliance, and contract requirements; proactively communicate changes, obtain necessary Change Orders, and identify additional scope opportunities.
  • Develop, manage, and report on project cost budgets, including forecasting, value tracking, and anticipating contingency needs to prevent overruns.
  • Drive project tasks and milestones to completion, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and project progress is communicated clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Identify potential project risks in advance and mobilize resources to mitigate them.
  • Champion core values, client success, and team development throughout the project lifecycle.
Your Qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience in project and/or construction management environments.
  • Strong proficiency in project/construction management principles, methods, and tools.
  • Experience in industrial controls (for data centers, building management, consumer products, automotive, food & beverage, process, or energy management).
  • Familiarity with building construction and subcontractor management.
  • Collaborative team player with a commitment to supporting colleagues and clients.
Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Expertise in Low Voltage installation (conduit, cable, etc.).
  • Experience with MS Project or similar project management software.
  • Background in control systems, HMI, plant data historian, and industrial projects.
  • Experience implementing MES/MOM solutions.
This is a 6+ month contract role with competitive pay and benefits. Candidates must be local to Ashburn, VA, and able to work on-site.
