Overview:
Trailer & Equipment Mechanic
$28-$35/hr | Monday-Friday | Day Shift
Do you enjoy diagnosing problems, making repairs, and keeping equipment running safely and efficiently? Keen Transport, part of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen group, is looking for an experienced Trailer & Equipment Mechanic to join our team.
In this hands-on role, you'll work on a diverse fleet including lowboy trailers, Class 8 trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other heavy equipment. If you're a skilled mechanic who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working with a company that invests in its employees, we'd love to hear from you.
Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Perform all maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on Lowboy Trailers, Trucks and a variety of Equipment, such as forklifts, cranes and Yard Equipment.
  • Service, repair and diagnose hydraulic, air brakes, suspension, drivetrain and electrical systems
  • Move equipment throughout the property in a safe manner
  • Operate specialized tooling and vehicles
  • Maintain proficiency on equipment and technologies that enhance our productivity
  • Properly document all equipment maintenance, repairs and parts and into TMT shop software program.
  • Perform proper safety protocols and procedures, including use of protective equipment, and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure work area is always clean, safe, and organized.
  • Have a positive attitude, interact in a respectful and professional manner with drivers and other departments.

Job Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • 2-4 years of verifiable experience as a Trailer and Equipment Mechanic
  • Air Brakes certification
  • Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG and ARC)
  • Proficiently use hand and power tools-Welders, grinders, torches, etc.
  • Tool set
    • Standard Tools to service Semi and Forklift
    • Sockets and Wrenches
    • multimeter
  • Strong computer skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Clean Driving Record

ABOUT YOU
You're an experienced (3-5 years) Trailer and Equipment Mechanic with a diverse background and experience working on different types of equipment. Preferably Lowboy Trailers, Diesel Equipment and Class 8 Trucks. You have strong problem-solving skills and can adapt to work in any type of environment.
