Job description

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will oversee and coordinate maintenance activities within our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and machinery. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to maintenance planning and execution. The Maintenance Tech will work in close relation to the sites GM to ensure operational excellence and building compliance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Will perform preventative maintenance and cleaning on production equipment within the facility.
  •  Manage inventory on all tools and equipment essential to performing job duties (also see 12)
  • Calibrate or adjust equipment to ensure quality production, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, or ring gauge.
  •  Knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures of cold storage facilities.
  •  Equipment battery maintenance
  • PIT Fleet Monitoring: ensuring our powered industrial trucks are in good working order by completing inspections and reporting any discrepancies via inspection sheet.
  • Work rotating shifts and is expected to be available for on-call hours as scheduled. 9. Completes additional duties as assigned by the Department Managers.
  • Displays professional, respectful and polite behavior.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among team members.
  • Manage inventory levels of spare parts and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure cost-effective maintenance operations.
  • Additional Job Functions:
  •  Picks up supplies, equipment, and company product from various off-site locations for use at Keany Produce Company
  •  Work with outside vendors to facilitate the receipt and use of supplies and parts pertaining to company maintenance responsibilities
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma 
  • Four years of experience in the field of cold refrigeration maintenance or in a related area.
  • Certification or accreditation in one or more of the following disciplines: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, machine, welding and or vehicle servicing 3. Knowledge:
  • Basic mechanical knowledge • Basic electrical knowledge • Basic plumbing knowledge • Basic computer knowledge to include use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  •  Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
  • Able to change outlets, switches, light fixtures, electrical motors.
  • Able to weld, grind, and or improve the overall structure of metal racking within facility.
  •  Able to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance and mechanical issues pertaining to company equipment and company facilities Physical Demands: Degree of physical demands (strength) usually associated with this position. Medium 25 lbs – 75 lbs Standing 95%, Sitting 5%

Working Conditions:

  •  This position requires irregular hours to include nights, weekends and some holidays.
  • Temperatures can be as low as 35 degrees in some areas.
  • Noise level is moderate.
