Description
Serves as the primary college representative to recruit local prospective students utilizing a multi-faceted approach to programming. Responsible for the implementation of an annual student recruitment plan for all college markets including the high schools and other target markets. This position will generate, market to, and communicate with prospective students throughout the enrollment process. This position will support and promote recruitment efforts consistent with the annual recruitment plan at community and campus events, such as high school visits, college fairs, and other recruitment events. Additionally, the admissions counselor will provide campus tours for prospective students and their families.
Examples of Duties
A. Leads continuous improvement efforts in the student recruitment and admissions process by analyzing recruitment outcomes, refining strategies, and optimizing communication channels. Partners closely with Coordinator of Enrollment Services, executive leadership, deans, directors, faculty, and staff to align recruitment and enrollment efforts with institutional goals, ensuring a coordinated approach to attracting prospective students.
B. Builds strong relationships with prospective students and provides exceptional service throughout the admissions process, including application completion, transcript submission, and placement test coordination.
C. Focuses on partnerships with local high schools and career centers, conducting regular visits to engage students, parents, and educators through presentations, information sessions, and campus tours. Collaborates with school administrators, counselors, and KCC faculty to enhance outreach efforts and expand recruitment opportunities, fostering sustained student engagement.
D. Provides personalized guidance and ongoing support to prospective students through tailored communication channels, including phone calls, emails, social media, and in-person meetings. Proactively builds and nurtures relationships to enhance the recruitment and admissions process, while consistently tracking prospect engagement and submitting detailed reports on enrollment progress.
E. Plays an integral role in optimizing the use of the college's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to enhance recruitment efficiency and support territory management. Serves as a CRM system administrator, overseeing the tracking and nurturing of prospective students throughout the recruitment lifecycle, ensuring seamless communication and follow-up.
F. Supports enrollment management efforts by providing expert input and strategic guidance to address the college's enrollment goals. Regularly contributes to the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Committee with insights and feedback on admissions strategies and recruitment initiatives, ensuring alignment with the institution's enrollment objectives.
G. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of KCC's academic programs and enrollment procedures to provide accurate information, answer inquiries, and make informed referrals. Plays an active role in promoting the college at recruitment events, including coordinating and staffing presentations at college fairs, campus visits, and other outreach activities.
H. Contributes to the planning and execution of key on-campus recruitment events, such as the annual High School Counselors' Day, Explore KCC Day, and area College Fairs. Demonstrates flexibility by working evenings and weekends to ensure the success of recruitment initiatives, enhancing engagement with prospective students and educational partners.
Minimum Qualifications
A. Bachelor's degree in a related field required, master's degree preferred
B. Public relations, marketing, enrollment management, admissions, recruitment, customer service experience preferred.
C. Excellent oral and written communication and motivational skills required. Bilingual English Spanish preferred.
D. Ability to provide own transportation and to work some evenings and weekends required.

Hiring range: $49,456/yr. min. - $55,638/yr. 1st quartile - $61,820/yr. mid.
