KB Construction NW, Inc is a small, growing, local general construction company that has been serving Oregon since 2004. We specialize in residential remodeling, additions, repairs, commercial tenant in-fills, and the maintenance and repair of a large global material handling client. Job Summary

We are looking for an expert Millwright/Conveyor Mechanic with expertise in mechanical systems and conveyors as well as a strong ability to troubleshoot and problem solve issues crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's material handling processes. You will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment at each of our client's stations throughout Oregon (company equipped vehicle provided). 


On a regular basis, you’ll be working on material handling projects, repairing motors, conveyors, belts, and various built-in and stand alone equipment. You will move equipment to different station locations, dismantle obsolete or irreparable machines or parts, and ensure various safety requirements are met. Ultimately, it will be up to you to make sure that all machines, motors, and conveyors operate properly and that our client's facilities remain safe. Due to the nature of our client's business, you may occasionally be asked to report to any station in Oregon to handle emergency services outside of regular business hours. You will be compensated fairly for these trips. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair machinery and equipment, including all aspects of a conveyor system outside of electrical 
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in mechanical systems and implement effective solutions
  • Regularly create, execute, and schedule plans of action for each station to ensure work and repairs are being done efficiently and safely
  • Repair broken or defective machine parts, using welding and other tools
  • Make welding repairs and fabricate new pieces/equipment
  • Ensure that conveyors are tracking properly, re-lace or replace belts
  • Transfer material handling parts to different locations, to install, repair, or recycle them
  • Perform regular inventory of each station's available parts
  • Conduct regular inspections of each station's equipment to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts and replacing worn components
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in mechanical systems and implement effective solutions
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance, completed and needed repairs
  • Communicate effectively with station managers and staff


Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Millwright or similar role
  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Must have a valid Oregon driver's license
  • Experience with construction equipment and machinery
  • Availability to travel regularly to different sites throughout Oregon (in company vehicle, return same day)
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Team player
  • Millwright certification preferred, but not required


Compensation & Schedule

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30-$40 DOE

Hours: 35-45 per week (4-10s, M-Th)


Ability to Commute to Shop

  • Springfield, OR 97478: Business office/shop, will use company vehicles to travel to job sites
