How much do kalman filter jobs jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 16, 2026, the average yearly pay for kalman filter jobs in the United States is $84,586.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $69,000.00 and $98,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Kalman Filter-related jobs, and why are they important?

To excel in Kalman Filter-related roles, you need strong mathematical, statistical, and signal processing knowledge, often backed by a degree in engineering, applied mathematics, or computer science. Familiarity with programming languages like MATLAB, Python, or C++, and experience with simulation tools and control systems, is typically required. Analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and clear communication are crucial soft skills for interpreting data and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. These skills are vital because they enable you to design, implement, and optimize state estimation algorithms for real-world applications such as robotics, navigation, or sensor fusion.

What are some typical projects or applications that professionals working with Kalman Filters are involved in?

Professionals specializing in Kalman Filters often work on projects involving sensor fusion, navigation systems, robotics, and aerospace applications. These projects typically require designing algorithms to estimate and predict dynamic system states in real time, such as vehicle position, velocity, or orientation, using noisy sensor data. Collaboration is common with teams of engineers, data scientists, and software developers to integrate Kalman Filter solutions into larger systems, and professionals may also be involved in tuning and validating filter performance through simulations and field tests.

What are Kalman Filter jobs?

Kalman Filter jobs involve positions where professionals design, implement, or optimize Kalman Filters—mathematical algorithms used for estimating the state of a dynamic system from noisy sensor data. These jobs are common in fields like robotics, aerospace, navigation, and autonomous vehicles, where accurate real-time data processing is crucial. Professionals in these roles typically have expertise in control theory, signal processing, and programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB. They work on tasks like sensor fusion, trajectory estimation, and real-time tracking applications.

What is the difference between Kalman Filter Jobs vs Data Scientist Jobs?
