Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team at Kaiser Permanente in Riverside, California. In this vital role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality physical therapy services to patients with orthopedic concerns, helping them regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing personalized treatment plans and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

About the Organization

Kaiser Permanente is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to improving the health of our members and the communities we serve. With a focus on preventive care and wellness, we provide a wide range of medical services and innovative health programs. Our commitment to fostering a culture of health, safety, and well-being within our workforce makes us an employer of choice for healthcare professionals.

Work Environment

This position is based in an outpatient office setting, where you will work onsite with a diverse patient population. The Riverside location features state-of-the-art facilities equipped with advanced therapeutic technologies, allowing you to provide effective and efficient treatment to your patients. You will collaborate closely with nurses, doctors, and other rehabilitation team members in a supportive environment that emphasizes teamwork and communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess their functional limitations and establish treatment goals tailored to each individual's needs.
  • Create and implement evidence-based treatment plans, utilizing manual therapy techniques and specific modalities to address pain and dysfunction.
  • Educate patients and their families about the therapeutic process, ensuring they understand the planned interventions and how they contribute to recovery.
  • Monitor and document patients' progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as patients achieve their goals or face new challenges.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and discharge planning, ensuring continuity of care after therapy completion.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient management in compliance with organizational policies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with adult patients facing orthopedic issues, including post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain management. This role necessitates a strong emphasis on individualized care, where you will utilize your skills to support patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals. Understanding the unique needs of each patient, especially in outpatient settings, will enhance their recovery experience and contribute to positive outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Current California Physical Therapist License at the time of hire.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification mandatory at the time of hire.
Preferred Experience

While we welcome all qualified candidates, experience in outpatient orthopedic settings is preferred. Proficiency in manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise prescription, and knowledge of evidence-based practice guidelines will set you apart in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to 130,000, commensurate with experience and skills. In addition to competitive compensation, Kaiser Permanente offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and generous paid time off, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.
