Position Summary
The Ice Crew members are part of a professional, high-energy team responsible for maintaining the ice surface before, during, and after events. Candidates should have strong skating skills and an interest in hockey and ice maintenance operation.
This role pays an hourly rate of $18.11-$19.73 (per CBA).
Benefits as per the union agreement.
This position will remain open until August 28, 2026

The 15,000+ seat downtown arena is home to the eleventh-time National Champion UConn Women's Basketball team and the six-time National Champion UConn Men's Basketball team. Led by Hall of Fame basketball Head Coach Geno Auriemma and Dan Hurley, the Men's & Women's basketball programs have established themselves as national powerhouses. PeoplesBank Arena is also home to the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, the primary developmental affiliate of the New York Rangers.
PeoplesBank Arena entertains millions of visitors annually with a variety of concerts, family shows, ice-skating spectaculars, consumer events, and trade shows throughout the season. The venue has played host to an extraordinary roster of world-renowned artists, including Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, Drake, and many others. PeoplesBank Arena will continue to be the center of sports and entertainment for Hartford and the State of Connecticut for years to come.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in quick changes, which include the construction/deconstruction of the penalty and player boxes.
  • Change out broken hockey glass during games.
  • Skate and remove snow during media timeouts.
  • Works safely, quickly, and efficiently to meet all deadlines.
  • Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor.
  • Work independently and in a team environment.
  • All other tasks assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications
  • Experience working in an ice rink setting preferred.
  • Comfortable in front of large crowds.
  • Proficient ice-skating.
  • High school diploma or GED Preferred.
  • Must arrive for each scheduled shift on time, in uniform, and ready to work.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects on a frequent basis.
