Job description

A JUNIOR ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN must be able to perform drafting and data input. This position requires trained individual meeting CAD technician qualifications such as producing site specific drawings depicting present status of all facilities equipment and connections based on 'red-line' drawings provided by engineers and inspectors. Duties may include: AutoCAD, Micro station or other client specific mapping software.

Use AutoCAD to prepare detailed engineered construction drawings beginning with prototypes and based on information provided by engineer or senior technical staff on the design. Read and interpret engineered construction drawings Review 'red-line' changes and interface mapping system with continuing property records in a Progress relational database. Create construction documents and/or records in client specific mapping system.

Create as-built staking sheets, schematics, permits, service order drawings, and any other CAD drawings, maps or CAD records work. Prepare updated 'As-Built' site drawings accurately. Be familiar with regulatory requirements and able to draft plans in compliance with those regulations.

Other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Technical school degree with some course work in civil engineering related drafting or at least 2 years of experience in civil engineering drafting for projects such as commercial and/or residential land development for water, sewer, drainage, paving and site layout. Technical training in Computer Aided Drafting or equivalent work experience is preferred

Must be proficient in mapping software and be familiar with relational databases. Proficient in Windows operating system environment with working knowledge of Microsoft office. Must be able to communicate effectively.

Learn and apply new information quickly and effectively. Exhibit integrity, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills. Valid Driver's License - Must be insurable by fleet insurer; driving history will be reviewed by agent and underwriter The ability to work a regular schedule of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM Friday Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with OSHA guidelines and directives, in conjunction with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. Regularly move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly. Regularly work on repetitive tasks.

Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects. Regularly hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm. Regularly use headphones and earpiece.

Regularly see details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
