Job Description
As the Trade Marketing Specialist (TMS), you will report to the Vice President of Sales & Business Development. The Trade Marketing Specialist is the driving force in the success of our retail accounts both domestic and abroad. On a strategic level, the TMS is responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies with our retail partners, which includes management and measurement of a trade marketing budget. The TMS will be responsible for managing timelines for development and deadlines for delivery of assets, and working with KontrolFreek's in-house creative team to ensure assets for retailers are delivered on time and to their specifications. The ideal candidate will be a clear, confident communicator with account management experience across retail channels, and/or deep experience with a select retail partner. This position works with marketing and operations to deliver on corporate sales goals.
Essential Functions:
  • Service accounts for profit growth consistent with company objectives
  • Develop and execute retail specific go-to-market strategies in coordination with marketing
  • Communicate product value and benefits to external partners
  • Work with teams to develop account specific playbook for key releases
  • Provide retail customer feedback to internal teams
  • Manage account specific trade budgets
  • Monitoring and analyzing sales performance by retailer
  • Recommending strategies for improving performance; including product refreshes or introductions
  • Changes to distribution or store presence
  • Retailer-specific consumer marketing programs, retailer education programs, and pricing shifts
  • Reporting on competitor's movements and/or opportunities for KontrolFreek to expand
  • Developing pitch decks for new accounts and updates for existing accounts.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the industry, external partners, buyers and competitors
  • Work with Marketing to develop selling tools
  • Use sales/forecast trends to make build and inventory management recommendations
  • Identify opportunities and risk to ensure accuracy in forecast reporting
  • Pricing strategy, channel inventory exposure, price protection monitoring and analysis
  • Provide weekly variance analysis by customer and SKU on key directional differences from version of the forecast to the next
  • Act as a liaison with third-party merchandising service providers

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field
  • 3-5 years' experience in similar role
  • Strong communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated success in managing marketing campaigns
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work efficiently and effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fluid, fast-paced team environment while meeting critical deadlines
  • Experience managing channel marketing, MDF or co-op advertising budgets a plus
  • Demonstrated strong project management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of gaming industry or video games preferred
  • Experience in international retail sale preferred
  • Ability to analyze varieties of data and identify market trends
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, plus the ability to quickly learn and work with the new systems and software
