Southmont High School is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Spring Athletic Programs in the following roles: (we offer Volleyball, Football, Boys Tennis, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Co-Ed Cross Country, Girls Golf, & Cheerleading)
- Varsity Assistant Coach
- Junior Varsity (JV) Coach
- Volunteer Coach
Position Overview
Coaches will support the Head Coach and Athletic Department in building a competitive, positive, and student-focused program. Candidates should be committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and conducting practices
- Teach sport-specific skills and game strategies
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and accountability
- Supervise athletes at practices and contests
- Support program organization, communication, and equipment management
- Follow all school, conference, and IHSAA guidelines
Qualifications
- Previous coaching and/or playing experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching staff
- Completion of required certifications (CPR, First Aid, state coaching requirements)
- Must meet all Southmont High School employment and background check requirements
