Join us as a Motion Graphics Artist - Video Producer & Director today.
The ideal candidate will craft captivating 2D and 3D animations and motion graphics that bring Sandia's stories to life across internal and external communications, research initiatives, digital displays, and corporate branding. They'll lead projects from concept to completion, delivering visually impactful solutions through creative expertise, proactive collaboration, and outstanding customer service.
We're looking for someone fluent in the latest animation tools and techniques, eager to embrace new technologies, and committed to continuous learning and innovation.
On any given day, you may be called upon to:
  • Dream big, and push boundaries
  • Collaborate and consult with staff and managers to determine requirements and advise and influence decision makers on best methods of communication.
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment or software that best meets the needs of clients or Creative Services.
  • Perform and oversee aspects of animation or motion graphics design, including conceptualization, subject-matter research, and execution.
  • Establish and manage budgets associated with projects, including determining the most practical and cost-efficient approach, schedule, and level of quality required to accomplish communication objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines, all while performing with attention to detail.
  • Maintain professional, effective, and direct communication skills with customers, coworkers, and levels of management.
  • Create high-quality animation/motion graphic templates and assets for use by members of the design and video teams.
  • Design necessary elements that tell stories and communicate messages effectively in a deadline sensitive environment.
  • Team with specialists and consult with all levels of staff and management to create, modify, and track work products.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range
$87,400 - $168,800
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require
  • A Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Media Arts, Animation and Visual Effects, Film/TV, or a relevant field, plus five (5) years related experience; Or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Experience with the following:
    • Partnering with technical partners for design implementation.
    • After Effects, Maya, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine, and/or Blender.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-Level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire
  • A proven pedigree in visual storytelling; the ability to demonstrate a deep understating of animation, motion graphics, and modern production trends
  • Experience with brand design and typographic principles
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design, and various 3D software
  • Knowledge of marketing fundamentals and use them to design dynamic, creative solutions
  • The ability to translate technical concepts and material into compelling and persuasive communications products
  • Tech-savvy; the ability to work in multiple file formats and integrate/output required metadata and media
  • Experience with project management, including determining the most practical and cost-efficient approach, schedule, and level of quality required to accomplish communications
  • Excellent teaming, interpersonal, and communication skills; the demonstrated ability to team well with creative directors, video producers, other designers, writers, and outside partners

Posting Duration
