This is a contingent position based upon contract award KBR is looking for a motivated Systems Engineer to join our team and provide Systems Engineer Technical Advisor (SETA) support for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED). GED plays a critical role in enabling the NRO to plan and execute intelligence-gathering missions, transforming collected data into useful information for the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) users. In this role, you will have the chance to design, develop, test, and deliver products that support our customers' advanced systems. You'll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams focused on hardware, software, system integration, and data analysis to help achieve important missions and meet requirements. Primary Responsibilities: * Support incidents and investigations by addressing end-user needs and identifying system issues related to space systems, with a focus on ground processing, mission management, and command and control across various phenomenology's.
* Collaborate with analysts, project leads, and customers to enhance operational efficiency and system reliability.
* Assist in developing system requirements and specifications aligned with High-Level Mission objectives.
* Participate in trade studies to identify improvements in system performance, architecture, and software/hardware solutions.
* Contribute to engineering tradeoff analyses and assist in formulating Courses of Action (COAs) that consider operational constraints.
* Gather information to create technical documents that support project deliverables, specifically for command-and-control operations.
* Stay updated on agency, national, and international standards related to space systems development to ensure compliance and integration.
* Provide support throughout the systems engineering life cycle, managing risks and developing mitigation plans to guarantee mission success.
* Track project activities for systems engineering, software/hardware development, and deployment, ensuring effective command and control integration.
* Engage in continuous improvement efforts to optimize ground processing and mission management practices. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and up to 5 years of experience.
* Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
* Familiarity with Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence concepts, tools, and systems
* Understanding of planning and integrating secure solutions based on legal, policy, and compliance directives.
* Experience in developing requirements for system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security for mid-to-large-scale systems.
* Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with adjudicated polygraph Preferred Qualifications: * Knowledge of the NRO System Engineering process and familiarity with terms such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs), System Requirements Documents (SRD), and Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR).
* Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering.
* Knowledge of IC overhead collection systems and processing Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
