Position Summary

The Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for the layout, design, and project management of industrial building structures, heavy equipment foundations, and site civil projects across multiple manufacturing facilities. This position plays a critical role in supporting capital expansion initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, and facility improvement projects in a highly technical manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

โ€ข Design industrial building structures, foundations, and plant layouts for large-scale manufacturing operations.
โ€ข Develop and maintain 2D CAD drawings and technical documentation for facilities, utilities, and structural projects.
โ€ข Evaluate project feasibility, develop budgets, and support ROI analysis for capital projects.
โ€ข Prepare bid packages, review vendor proposals, negotiate pricing and timelines, and manage contractor relationships.
โ€ข Manage project schedules utilizing MS Project or related project management software.
โ€ข Coordinate and oversee external contractors and subcontractors during construction and installation activities.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with applicable structural, environmental, and safety codes and standards.
โ€ข Support modifications, redesigns, repairs, and maintenance of existing facilities and infrastructure.
โ€ข Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, maintenance, and leadership teams.
โ€ข Provide technical leadership on heavy machinery foundation design and industrial infrastructure projects.

Preferred Background & Qualifications

โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
โ€ข 3โ€“7+ years of experience within manufacturing, industrial, heavy industrial, or related environments.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of structural design, industrial foundations, building codes, and permitting.
โ€ข Experience managing capital projects and coordinating contractors.
โ€ข Proficiency with 2D CAD software and Microsoft Office / MS Project.
โ€ข PE License is a plus but not required.
โ€ข Strong communication, organization, and project management capabilities.
โ€ข Exposure to heavy equipment foundations, utilities, or industrial construction environments highly preferred.
