Responsibilities

The Reimbursement Analyst is responsible to perform assigned financial and accounting functions, complete assigned reports, and provide accurate and timely information for review by the Director and Assistant Director of Reimbursement. Analyst responsibilities will include assembling and submitting the monthly filing to NYS and/or each County for grant spending that are expecting under each programs for reimbursement.  This position shall support all reimbursement functions and focus on development of Hospital Reimbursement and Government Grants knowledge.  This position plays a key role in preparing monthly statistics, preparing draw down schedules based upon spending for grants, assisting in preparation of cost reports, and the Wage Index. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly filings for NYS and the Counties on Government Grants.
  • Analyzes supporting schedules and reports for interim, monthly, and year-end reporting.
  • Prepare operating reports, cost reports, monthly grant vouchers/claims, and other reports as assigned by management.
  • Prepare detailed analysis of revenues and expenses for monthly claims submissions, annual and periodic cost reporting obligations related to OMH/OASAS funded programs ensuring information is accurate and complete.
  • Utilization of Microsoft Excel models for financial planning purposes and assist in developing financial computer models.
  • Prepare and review Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party cost reports, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Preparation of monthly statistical reports for each hospitals.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and backup to external auditors and government agencies.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to junior analysts and other internal stakeholders.
  • Assists in preparation of Institutional Cost Report (ICR) including, but not limited to supporting schedules, memos, and accumulation of financial data.
  • Performs related duties as assigned and unrelated duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.

Experience:

  • Experience with hospital and/or physician group reimbursement preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced), and financial modeling tools.
  • Experience with Lawson, Strata and Epic is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity/Experience with OMH/OASAS and County submissions of claims for deficit funding, cost reporting (CFR/CQR), NYS and County Budgets (CBR), and Universal Budget preferred.
Pay RangeUSD $68,000.00 - USD $72,000.00 /Yr.Qualifications

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
