This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop the technology stack for Supply Chain and Operations. This role is on the Supply Chain & Operations Technology team, where our mission is to build scalable solutions that automate and simplify Supply Chain and Manufacturing business processes. This ranges from procurement, material requirements planning (MRP), manufacturing scheduling, warehouse automation, and more. Join us as we build the road to space!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead projects and initiatives to build new software products, covering areas such as sourcing, inventory control, manufacturing & quality, test operations, and more
  • Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code in languages such as Java, Python, and Typescript
  • Design and build web interfaces in frameworks such as React and Angular
  • Design automated monitoring and alerting via cloud platforms and services
  • Implement AI workflows and software development lifecycle and end qualities for efficient, responsive delivery across the entire Operations Technology organization
  • Champion operational excellence by reducing technical debt, maintaining high ticket counts, ensuring high availability, minimizing mean time to recovery, and implementing extensive monitoring and alerting
  • Lead technical design reviews across the organization building repeatable processes and mechanisms to scale software delivery
  • Mentor more junior software developers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience
  • Demonstrated background in researching and incorporating modern AI/ML tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency or expertise in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong project management skills capable of leading multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience architecting large-scale supply chain or operations software systems
  • Deep expertise in cloud architecture and microservices design patterns
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical teams
  • Track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams
  • Knowledge of MRP, supply chain planning, or manufacturing execution systems (MES)
  • Experience with data engineering and analytics platforms
  • Experience architecting and scaling AI/ML solutions across supply chain or operations domains
  • Deep understanding of large language models, generative AI, and emerging AI technologies
  • Track record of incorporating AI capabilities into software systems to drive business value and operational efficiency

Base Pay Range for:

WA applicants is $197,529.00 - $276,539.55
