About Us

TKDA is growing, and we are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Specialist / Designer to join our multi-disciplined Rail Division. As a member of our Civil / Construction team, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplined, multi-location group of Architectural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural professionals to provide services for Class I, short-line, and commuter rail projects throughout the country. With over 115 years of experience in the rail industry, we are committed to delivering high-quality projects that enhance rail infrastructure and improve transportation efficiency.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer with 5-10 years of utility design experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and managing utility projects, including potable water, fire protection, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems.

Hybrid Work Environment

Our hybrid work policy includes three days in the office (Tuesday through Thursday) and two days working from home (Monday and Friday). This structure is designed to enhance team collaboration and uphold our ESOP culture, ensuring a balanced and productive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop utility infrastructure projects, including potable water, fire protection, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems.
  • Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and other engineers.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
  • Conduct field inspections and oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in utility design and project management.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
Salary

$87,500 - $112,194 a year (base pay for candidates with 5-10 years of related experience; compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities).
