Position Description

The Senior Design Specialist provides advanced drafting and design support for engineering and construction projects, with a focus on nuclear and highly regulated environments. This role requires strong proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), the ability to independently develop and modify design drawings, and experience working with 3D modeling tools

The successful candidate will be capable of performing field walkdowns, interpreting engineering direction, and producing high-quality design documentation with minimal supervision. This position may also provide guidance and direction to junior drafters and designers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to originate and produce design drawings with minimal supervision
  • Develop and modify design drawings based on engineering input and field conditions
  • Perform 3D modeling (SmartPlant 3D (S3D) preferred)
  • Read, interpret, and generate design drawings with minimal engineering guidance
  • Conduct field walkdowns to assess existing systems and conditions
  • Interpret field direction and translate into accurate design documentation
  • Generate minor design details and incorporate them into project deliverables
  • Create new drawings and update or revise existing drawings
  • Provide guidance and direction to junior drafters and designers
