Job description

1. Demonstrates leadership and supervisory skills.

Understands and demonstrates a safety culture of always performing work safely, setting the example for other crew members.
3. Can perform roles and responsibilities without instruction from supervision.


4. Knows the sequence of activities to be performed without being directed.

Understands how to use and the potential outcomes of the misuse of all tank building tools and equipment.
6. Understands proper use of plate clamps, has knowledge of proper applications for wire rope and/or synthetic slings.

Provides coaching/training to other crew members to improve overall crew abilities.
7. Recognizes hazards and takes the necessary action to mitigate those hazards.


8. Learn and use training provided to maintain personal and team safe behaviors and procedures
9. Maintain good housekeeping.


10. Rig, lift, and fit-up standard steel storage tanks and vessels with minimal direction from supervision.

Inspect rigging equipment, recognizing and removing damaged equipment from service prior to use.
12. Erection of tank external structural steel, platforms, and associated components.


13. Fabrication and installation of internal tank piping, instruments, and all associated components.

Ability to operate construction equipment as required; including lifting, material handling and personnel access equipment.
15. Utilize tools properly with no unauthorized modifications.


16. Ensure proper tools, equipment, and materials are available at the work locations to ensure efficient start and completion of a work task.

Recognize when tools must be inspected and assist in scheduling the inspections.
18. Recognize and remove from service defective tools, rigging, and equipment.

Typically requires a minumum of 6 months industrial construction experience.
