Vous etes un(e) artiste senior Creature/Rigging possedant une solide experience en CFX et en animation technique (Tech Anim), pret(e) a mettre a profit votre expertise technique et votre esprit de resolution de problemes au sein d'une equipe qui valorise la flexibilite, la clarte et l'autonomie.
Vous avez travaille sur des projets stylises comme photorealistes, couvrant aussi bien la deformation de personnages que la simulation de vetements et de cheveux, tout en comprenant les impacts de votre travail sur les etapes de production en aval. Vous maitrisez Maya, Houdini, mGear et Python, et vous savez diagnostiquer et resoudre rapidement les problemes lies aux rigs ou aux simulations.
Vous etes une personne proactive, orientee vers les solutions, qui s'epanouit dans un environnement collaboratif et dynamique. Vous souhaitez encadrer d'autres artistes, contribuer a l'amelioration des processus et du pipeline, tout en demeurant implique(e) dans la production lorsque necessaire.
Ce que vous ferez
Processus (50 %)
- Concevoir, maintenir et resoudre les problemes lies aux rigs corporels et faciaux de haute qualite a l'aide de mGear et Maya.
- Simuler des vetements, cheveux, muscles et deformations de peau realistes dans Houdini ou Maya.
- Optimiser et preparer les rigs pour l'animation et les simulations par plan, incluant l'integration des groomings et la publication des caches.
- Developper et maintenir des outils, scripts et flux de travail internes en Python ou VEX.
- Realiser des taches de CFX et de Tech Anim au niveau des plans, incluant la sculpture corrective, le nettoyage des deformations et la resolution des collisions.
- Deboguer, versionner et publier des rigs, caches et simulations a l'aide d'Alembic et USD dans le pipeline de production.
- Utiliser ShotGrid/Flow pour assurer le suivi de vos taches ainsi que de celles des artistes Creature que vous accompagnez afin de respecter les echeanciers de production.
- Participer aux travaux de rigging, de simulation et de production selon les besoins.
Innovation (20 %)
- Prototyper de nouveaux systemes de rigging et de simulation, optimiser les configurations de solveurs et tester de nouvelles integrations au pipeline.
- Collaborer avec les equipes Pipeline et la supervision CG afin de developper les flux de travail de nouvelle generation pour les creatures dans Houdini, Maya et mGear.
- Developper des systemes proceduraux evolutifs repondant aux besoins de production, notamment des outils d'auto-rigging, des bibliotheques de simulation et des solutions de mise en cache.
- Creer de la documentation, des outils et des flux de travail facilitant les transferts entre les departements Groom, Layout et Lighting.
Leadership et collaboration (30 %)
- Encadrer les artistes junior et intermediaires en rigging et CFX et soutenir leur developpement professionnel.
- Collaborer etroitement avec les equipes d'animation, de FX et d'eclairage afin d'assurer la fidelite des personnages et la continuite des plans.
- Diriger les revues techniques, les controles qualite et la documentation des meilleures pratiques.
- Collaborer et communiquer regulierement avec la production concernant l'avancement des projets et des taches.
- Travailler avec l'equipe de gestion des artistes sur la planification des effectifs, la retroaction des equipes et les enjeux pouvant affecter les productions.
- Fournir un soutien technique a la production pour l'evaluation des besoins, les soumissions et la planification des taches liees au rigging et au CFX.

Ce que vous apportez
- Plus de 8 ans d'experience en effets visuels haut de gamme pour des series televisees ou des longs metrages.
- Plus de 2 ans d'experience en supervision ou en leadership d'equipes de rigging ou de CFX.
- Excellente maitrise de Maya, Houdini et Python, ainsi qu'une experience avec mGear, Alembic, USD et VEX.
- Experience dans la creation et le debogage de rigs personnalises, de simulations de vetements et de cheveux, de systemes musculaires et d'outils CFX.
- Experience de collaboration etroite avec les equipes d'animation et les departements en aval afin d'assurer une transition fluide des actifs et la reussite des plans.

Who You Are
You are a Senior Creature/Rigging Artist who is experienced in CFX and Tech Anim, ready to bring your technical artistry and problem-solving mindset to a team that values flexibility, clarity, and ownership.
You've worked across stylized and photoreal pipelines, from character deformation to cloth and hair simulation - with an understanding of how it all connects downstream. You're fluent in Maya, Houdini, mGear, Python (plus a few tricks up your sleeve), and know how to debug a broken rig or sim without skipping a beat.
You're hands-on, solutions-oriented, and thrive in environments where the work is collaborative and fast-moving. You want to mentor artists, contribute to process and pipeline improvements, and still dive into shots when the team needs it.
What You'll Do
Process (50%)
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot high-quality body and facial rigs using mGear and Maya.
- Simulate realistic cloth, hair, muscle, and skin using Houdini or Maya
- Optimize and prep rigs for animation and shot-based simulation, including grooming integration and cache publishing.
- Develop and maintain internal tools, scripts, and workflows in Python or VEX
- Handle shot-level CFX/tech anim tasks including shot sculpting, deformation cleanup, and collision fixes.
- Debug, version, and publish rigs, caches, and simulations using Alembic and USD within the pipeline.
- Use ShotGrid/Flow to track your tasks and any creature artists you are supporting, to keep to production's schedule.
- Expected to take on rigging, simulation, and shot work as needed.
Pioneering (20%)
- Prototype new rigging and sim systems, improve solver setups, and test pipeline integrations
- Collaborate with Pipeline and CG Supervision on next-gen creature workflows across Houdini, Maya, mGear
- Build procedural systems to scale with show demands, including auto-rigging tools, sim libraries, and caching solutions
- Create documentation, tools, and workflows that support groom, layout, and lighting handoff
People (30%)
- Mentor junior and mid-level rigging/CFX artists and support their growth within the department
- Work closely with animators, FX, and lighters to ensure character fidelity and shot continuity
- Lead technical reviews, QC passes, and best practices documentation
- Collaborate and communicate with Production on show/task updates.
- Collaborate with Artist Management on crewing, team feedback, and any show hindrances that department leadership should be aware of.
- Provide technical support and guidance to Production for bidding and scheduling rigging/CFX tasks
- Report to the Head of CG
What You Bring
- 8+ years experience in high-end VFX for episodics or features
- 2+ years experience leading or supervising rigging/CFX teams
- Strong proficiency in Maya, Houdini, and Python - plus experience with MGear, Alembic, USD, and VEX
- Comfortable building and debugging custom rigs, cloth/hair sims, muscle systems, and custom CFX tools
- Experience working closely with animation, and downstream teams to ensure seamless asset handoff and shot success
- Experience building simulation-ready proxy assets, sim attachments, and layered garments
- Strong understanding of version control, shot-specific caching, and tech animation data prep
- Comfortable in fast-paced environments and capable of balancing priorities across multiple shows
- Strong communication and collaboration skills - you value feedback, clarity, and good-faith problem solving
