Job description

Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure and AWS to lead the architecture, design, and deployment of cloud infrastructure. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will provide technical leadership for cloud projects, develop advanced solutions, and ensure best practices in cloud security, performance, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex cloud environments and possess the ability to mentor junior engineers.  The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $170,000, plus an annual bonus.  Role is expected to be hybrid out of our Agoura Hills, CA office. 


Responsibilities

• Cloud Architecture: Design and lead the implementation of complex, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior cloud engineers and collaborate with other IT teams to deliver enterprise-grade cloud solutions.
• Cloud Services Management: Oversee the deployment and maintenance of key Azure and AWS services.
• Cloud Migration: Lead large-scale migrations of on-premises systems to Azure, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth transitions.
• Automation & DevOps: Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and configuration management tools like Ansible. Automate operational tasks, including infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize cloud environments for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards and security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM) and encryption.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement advanced monitoring solutions to track system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, security, and application development teams to deliver robust cloud solutions that meet business needs.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Azure and AWS services.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, ARM Templates, and Bicep.

• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers in a cloud environment.
• Strong background in cloud security, including IAM, RBAC, MFA, and encryption strategies.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud strategies.
• Strong understanding of cost management and cloud governance strategies.
• Experience leading cloud transformation projects for large enterprises.
• Experience in containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes (AKS) & (EKS).
• Knowledge of cloud compliance (e.g., SOC 2).


Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex cloud concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
