Cloud DevSecOps Engineer
Digital Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (DESI) is seeking a Cloud DevSecOps Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a Full-time (Regular) Exempt (Salary) position located in Patuxent River, Maryland 20670 (St. Mary's County Maryland). This position is mostly remote but may require ad hoc on-site support for planning, collaboration, or technical support. Candidates should reside in a 90-mile radius of Patuxent River Naval Air Station to support this requirement.

The ideal candidate will evaluate, test, and implement pipeline enhancements using GitLab and other DevSecOps tools; provide exceptional customer support and troubleshooting for pipeline users; and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, from mentoring teammates and training customers to presenting technical briefings to leadership.
ROLES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain secure DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines supporting software delivery and automation initiatives.
  • Develop and sustain containerized development and operational environments using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to container images, repositories, certificates, cloud services, and deployment pipelines.
  • Maintain and enhance pipeline tooling through automation, feature development, process improvements, and defect resolution.
  • Perform regression testing and validation of platform, infrastructure, and pipeline changes.
  • Provide technical support, training, demonstrations, and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop technical documentation, user guides, test plans, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to support secure software delivery and modernization efforts.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, you must meet the education and experience listed below:
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • BA/BS degree and 8 years related experience performing the roles/responsibilities listed above -OR- Associates degree and 12 years related experience performing the roles/responsibilities listed above -OR- HS/GED and 14 years related experience performing the roles/responsibilities listed above.
  • Bachelor's or Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar is preferred.
  • College degrees must be obtained from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps solutions.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services, including Amazon ECS and EKS.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Python, Java, JavaScript (Node.js), and/or .NET.
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, and Atlassian tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation skills, including experience developing technical guidance, how-to documentation, test plans, demonstrations, and training materials.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • US Citizenship is required due to US government contract requirement.
  • Active SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SSBI clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with experience or knowledge in these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • Experience with specific CI/CD related tools: GitLab Ultimate, Nexus, Prisma Cloud (Twistlock), and DORA metrics.
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps or software development initiatives within a DoD environment.
  • Experience with OpenShift.
  • Active TS/SSBI clearance.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The compensation range is based on industry compensation data and/or position budget and reflects our commitment to transparency and fairness:
  • The annual base compensation range is $125,000 to $165,000, commensurate with education, certifications, clearance, and experience.
  • Other compensation may include discretionary bonuses, referral rewards, and spot awards.
