Job description

Postgres developer
Irving CA - Hybrid
We're looking for a Data Engineer (not data scientist or analyst) with deep expertise in modern PostgreSQL database schema design and performance tuning. We've already taken care of most of the low-hanging fruit (dashboards, reviewing query plans, and db index / materialized view tuning), as well as having a mature ETL process that runs on Airflow. So while there will be opportunities to improve those systems, the real value--add will come from someone who really knows the nuts and bolts of high-performance data engineering and schema design. In that role, they'd work to potentially redesign (not just tune) big parts of our schema and data model.
Responsibilities
Providing analytical, operational and strategic support to client
Analyse the client's business need and provide recommendations
Map the business requirements to the application
Design of application database: structure, content and processes of data population;
Validate the solution with the end users;
Design the reports and extraction: SQL statement, layout formatting, and report publication;
Apply correspondent methodology and tools, the elaboration and implementation of consistent work plans, project and program documents, and achievement of results;
Ensure proper reporting on implementation and achievement of outputs, as well as contribute to reporting on progress towards outcomes and impact.
Skills
Must have
Functional knowledge:
Basic knowledge of financial products;
Previous experience (as plus) on capital markets (either Front, Middle or Back office experience) as analyst or technical support team.
Technical knowledge:
PostgreSQL expert
Python skills desirable
Experience with ETL tools;
AWS experience
Vocational competencies:
Fluent in English
Strong analytical & problem-solving skills;
Autonomy, adaptability and capacity to work under pressure;
Rigorous and precise;
Strong sense of dedication & teamwork.
