Job Summary

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's complex systems and infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of our IT environment while providing technical leadership to our team.

Job Objectives

  • Establishes and maintains positive peer, leadership, and customer relationship, interacting positively and productively with teams across organizational lines
  • Design and deploy scalable, high-performance systems, including hardware and software infrastructure.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, enhancements, and migrations in alignment with business objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, solutions, and methodologies to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Lead and manage IT projects from inception through to completion, including project planning, resource allocation, and timeline management.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex issues across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices to protect systems and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems, applications, and services.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system configurations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical system outages or issues outside of regular business hours.
  • Maintains professional skills and stays informed of changes in the healthcare industry, regulations, vendor technology and impacts on assigned systems
  • Utilize RIS’s ticketing system for documenting and troubleshooting, education, or work efforts
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Engineer/Admin or similar role, with a focus on designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-level systems.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of system administration, including Windows and Linux operating systems, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with networking protocols, services, and security (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for system administration tasks and workflow automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead IT projects and initiatives, including project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
