Job Title: Junior Estimator

Location: South Florida
Reports To: Project Executive / Principle
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our team. The Junior Estimator will assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for both residential and commercial construction projects. This role is ideal for someone early in their estimating career who wants to grow within a general contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for labor, materials, and subcontractor services.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to understand scope and requirements.
  • Solicit, organize, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
  • Assist in preparing bid packages, proposals, and changing order requests.
  • Support senior estimators in developing budgets, schedules, and value engineering options.
  • Maintain estimating databases, cost history records, and project documentation.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and subcontractor outreach when needed.
  • Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure estimates align with project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) OR equivalent work experience.
  • 1–2 years of estimating or construction-related experience (internship experience considered).
  • Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes (residential and commercial).
  • Strong skills in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with team members, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow into a more senior estimating role.
