Make Your Mark: As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high‑quality releases to our customers by designing, developing, troubleshooting, maintaining, optimizing, and scaling BlackLine’s cloud‑based backend services and driving innovation into our product suite.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver product features while adhering to timelines, coding standards, requirements, and quality.
  • Implement, refine, and enforce software development techniques to meet integration, performance, security, and maintainability expectations.
  • Maintain high standards of software quality and technical excellence by establishing good practices, writing clean, testable, maintainable, and secure code.
  • Inspire a forward‑thinking team of developers, acting as an agent of change and evangelist for a quality‑first culture.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, guiding them to solutions.
  • Proactively identify issues, bottlenecks, gaps, or opportunities and champion solutions with peers and leadership.
  • Perform critical maintenance, deployment, and release support activities, including occasional off‑hours support.
  • Play an integral, adaptable team player with strong collaboration skills focused on results and value delivery.
Qualifications
  • BS degree in Computer Science with 5+ years of software development experience OR MS degree with 3+ years.
  • Proficiency in general‑purpose programming languages (C#, Java, Python, .NET, .NET Core).
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience building Web Applications, SaaS products, and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with AI‑First development approach.
  • Understanding of supporting production deployments and on‑call responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and architectural design of complex systems.
  • Experience with service‑oriented architecture and distributed systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, data models, and transactional flows.
  • Mandatory knowledge of Scrum or other Agile development methodologies.
  • Passion for engineering excellence through automation, unit testing, and process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with open‑source tools.
  • Knowledge of public cloud architectures (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and cloud native services.
  • Experience designing and scaling high‑performance systems.
  • Experience with container management solutions like Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with API gateway, identity management, authentication, messaging platforms (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ), workflow orchestration tools, job scheduling, and search.
  • Background in FinTech or Financial services.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $170,000.00 – $213,000.00. Compensation structure may include variable incentive components (ICP or OTE) under envelope mandates. Detailed incentive plans and benefit information available to qualified candidates.
