Job description

Given our increasing workload, partially because of our recent ISO17025 certification, we are looking for a Junior Wind Engineer to join our Advisory Services team, based at our Brussels headquarters. This is an early-career role focused on the front end of the wind project lifecycle: wind resource assessment and feasibility studies. You will work alongside experienced colleagues on international projects, learning the methodologies and standards that underpin bankable wind assessments, while progressively taking ownership of your own projects. You will initially contribute to projects led by experienced colleagues, allowing you to develop your technical skills and gain experience. As you demonstrate strong performance and become more familiar with our processes, you will gradually take on greater responsibility, with the opportunity to lead and manage your own projects. You will be part of our EMEA team: a multidisciplinary group of Resource Assessment, Due Diligence and Owner's Engineering experts helping you build a broad range of skills as you progress in your career. Key responsibilities of this role: Manage wind measurement campaigns from met masts, LiDARs and SoDARs, including planning, instrumentation setup, data quality control and ongoing campaign oversight. Perform long-term wind resource analyses and energy yield calculations using industry-standard software such as WindPRO, and WAsP, aligned with international standards and industry best practices. Support in feasibility studies for wind energy projects, including site screening, turbine layout optimisation, technology selection and preliminary economic assessments. Conduct environmental and siting analyses including shadow flicker, noise modelling and landscape impact studies. Visit sites occasionally (abroad) to perform site selections, commission measurement equipment, or attend client meetings. Grow into a trusted point of contact for clients, handling their technical questions in writing and in meetings as your experience develops. Develop and improve internal analysis tools and workflows in Python, working with the team to automate repetitive tasks and strengthen our methodologies. Requirements Our ideal candidate is a curious and detail-oriented young engineer with a genuine interest in renewable energy. Someone who enjoys hands‐on problem solving, looking for practical answers and taking ownership of their work. You are eager to learn from senior colleagues, and you enjoy working as part of a collaborative team contributing to 3E's mission to accelerate the energy transition. We are looking for someone with: a master's/bachelor's degree in engineering (any discipline) The ability to get hands‐on across desk work and field work. The willingness to travel occasionally, to commission measurement equipment or perform site evaluations Eligibility to work in the EU Fluency in English and German, in spoken and written form. Coding experience in Python (or equivalent scripting language) for data analysis and tool development. A genuine interest in wind energy and willingness to deepen your expertise on the job. Strong organisation and communication skills; stress-resistant, solution-oriented, and you are able to handle several projects simultaneously. A can‐do mentality: you don't shy away from roadblocks but look for creative ways to solve them and make things work. What would really make you stand out: Experience with an academic project, internship or thesis involving wind resource assessment, CFD, mesoscale modelling or wind farm design. Familiarity with IEC 61400, MEASNET or FGW TR6 standards Hands‐on exposure to tools such as WindPRO, WAsP, OpenWind, WindFarmer or Meteodyn Familiarity with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS)Strong interest in renewable energies and this reflects in your way of life. Working knowledge of Polish or Eastern European languages Benefits Our offices are hidden in the centre of Brussels with a view on a pond, with ducks and a heron bringing a regular visit. In addition to a stimulating atmosphere in a highly motivated group of people, 3E offers a unique opportunity to further develop yourself in a company/team with an ambitious growth plan, delivering innovative services. Furthermore: Training on the job by our experts so you get to know our services and work inside and out. Flexibility in our open-minded company, gliding and flexible working hours.
