Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager to be based in Los Angeles, CA for a critical role in our organization.

  • Assume full responsibility for the comprehensive management and administration of highway and roadway projects, including the establishment of project-specific objectives and policies of utmost importance.
  • Provide authoritative leadership and strategic guidance to subordinate managers, rigorously enforce company and project policies, and serve as the primary liaison between AECOM and client stakeholders.
  • Oversee and ensure with utmost diligence that all facets of the project are constructed in strict accordance with design specifications, budget constraints, and schedule requirements through the effective management of subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Bear full accountability for administering the project from the critical budgeting and scheduling stages through procurement and contract closeout. This position carries significant profit and loss responsibility for assigned projects, demanding the highest level of financial acumen and strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project management plans, including risk management strategies, quality control measures, and resource allocation plans.
  • Coordinate with various internal departments, including engineering, design, environmental, and construction teams, to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings with team members and stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Manage and mitigate project risks, including identifying potential issues early and developing contingency plans to address them effectively.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all required project documentation, including permits, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory compliance reports.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to identify new opportunities, prepare proposals, and participate in client presentations and negotiations.
  • Mentor and develop junior project management staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to highway and roadway construction projects.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other Engineering discipline + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer license and ability to obtain California PE within twelve months if not currently registered in California.
  • Ability to proactively communicate and lead department staff.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience which reflect a progressively increasing level of leadership and responsibility.
  • Experience with business development and client relations.
  • Project management experience leading small to medium sized highway projects; well-versed in all aspects of project development.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
