Jr. Project Manager

About Us: North Star Pipelines is a leading underground utility subcontractor, specializing in wet utilities. Our company was founded in 1991 and has a reputation for high quality and reliable service. We work across Metro Phoenix and Maricopa County for commercial General Contractors. We are seeking a self-motivated, detailed, driven, Jr. Project Manager to join our team and support our underground wet utility projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support to our Sr. Project Manager and Foreman.
  • Manage the entire project from beginning to end.
  • Accountable for meeting agreed upon scope, cost, schedule and quality measures.
  • Project document control, project start up through close out, creating purchase orders, change orders, RFI's, submittals, and as-builts.
  • Take off and ordering material for various projects, coordinate with suppliers/vendors - maintain strict control of the project budget for each work activity.
  • Track project budget and monitor job costs.
  • Establishes effective communication plan with project team and key stakeholders.
  • Provides day-to-day direction to team members.
  • Ensures effective change management occurs throughout the course of the project.
  • Responsible for preparation of documentation, status reports and budgets.
  • Represent North Star with professional image and managerial skills.

Required Skills:

  • 3 years construction experience
  • 1 year experience in underground wet utilities
  • Able to read and understand project plans and specifications
  • Must be familiar with local codes and MAG specs and details
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office
  • Role requires excellent oral and written communications, interpersonal, negotiation, project planning, judgment, leadership, decision-making, analysis and problem-solving skills.
