Automation Developer (m/f/d)

 

Role Overview 

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Developer to design, develop, and deliver intelligent automation solutions that optimize business processes across enterprise systems. The role combines deep technical expertise with process understanding, enabling scalable, secure, and high-quality automation implementations. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and automation teams to translate requirements into robust automated solutions aligned with governance and best practices. 

Key Responsibilities 

Solution Design & Development 

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy automated solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate, Power Automate Desktop, Copilot Studio or similar 
  • Translate business requirements into Process Design Documents (PDD) and Solution Design Documents (SDD) 
  • Develop reusable components, frameworks, and automation standards 
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture 

Process Analysis & Optimization 

  • Analyze existing business processes and identify automation opportunities 
  • Collaborate with Process Mining / Business teams to prioritize use cases 
  • Optimize workflows to reduce complexity and improve automation success rates 

Integration & System Interaction 

  • Integrate automated solutions with enterprise systems such as:  
    • SAP (e.g., GUI automation, BAPIs, APIs) 
    • Microsoft 365 / Azure services 
    • Third-party applications via APIs or connectors 
  • Ensure secure and efficient handling of credentials, data, and system interactions 

Testing & Quality Assurance 

  • Perform unit testing, system testing, and UAT support 
  • Ensure compliance with coding standards and governance policies 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development and production environments 

Deployment & Support 

  • Support deployment to production environments (attended/unattended bots) 
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize existing automations 
  • Provide L3 support for incident resolution and continuous improvement 

Governance & Best Practices 

  • Follow and contribute to Automation CoE standards, security, and governance frameworks 
  • Ensure compliance with IT security, data protection, and audit requirements 
  • Document solutions and maintain knowledge repositories 

Collaboration & Mentoring 

  • Work closely with business stakeholders, consultants, and architects 
  • Guide and mentor junior developers and citizen developers 
  • Support presales activities (e.g., effort estimation, solution proposals) 

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field 
  • 5+ years of experience in Automation development 
  • Strong hands-on experience with:  
    • Microsoft Power Automate / Power Automate Desktop (preferred) 
    • or UiPath / Automation Anywhere / Blue Prism 
  • Experience with SAP automation (GUI, APIs, data structures) 
  • Solid understanding of:  
    • APIs, REST services, and system integration 
    • Windows environments, VMs, and infrastructure 
    • Exception handling and loggins strategies 
    • Credential and security management 
  • Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments 

Additional mandatory requirements:

Nationality or Work Authorization: Spanish or Portuguese nationality, or alternatively a permanent work permit/VISA for Spain or Portugal.

Language Proficiency: Advanced level of Spanish and English (both written and spoken).
