Job description

Senior Backend Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC; Chandler, AZ; Iselin, NJ; or Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid)

Employment Type: 12 months Contract

Pay Rate: $53.00 and $57.00 per hour.

Role Overview

In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering. This role contributes to large-scale planning, reviews and analyzes complex technical challenges, and collaborates with client personnel to meet deliverables. The position requires a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements within a fast-paced Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and develop scalable and efficient back-end solutions using Python and Node.js.
  • Integrate various APIs, databases, and third-party services into the existing system architecture.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while following best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Work closely with front-end developers, DevOps, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership to junior developers and team members.
  • Analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions to address technical challenges.
  • Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure the reliability and stability of applications.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education. 5+ years of strong proficiency in Python and Node.js is required.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency with Python (Django, Flask) and Node.js, with a solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and server-side applications.
  • Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with DevOps practices.
  • Strong experience with Git and version control workflows.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or PyTest.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.

Compensation & Benefits

The pay rate for this position is between $53.00 and $57.00 per hour. Contract employees are eligible for benefits.
