Job description

Position Summary

Great States Construction, a leading commercial general contractor based in Fargo, ND, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee complex multi-family and commercial construction projects in Fargo, ND market. The Senior Project Manager will lead project delivery from pre-construction through closeout, partnering closely with superintendents and field teams to ensure project success. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and consultants, and will report directly to the VP of Construction.

Compensation Structure
  • $105k/yr + base salary depending on experience
  • Performance-based bonus structure

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of assigned multi-family and commercial projects, from pre-construction through turnover.
  • Collaborate closely with superintendents and field teams, ensuring alignment between office and field operations.
  • Develop, monitor, and update project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts.
  • Partner with superintendents to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient field execution.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Lead project coordination with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Manage procurement, subcontracts, and change order processes.
  • Monitor project performance and provide timely updates and reporting to leadership.
  • Proactively identify and resolve project risks, conflicts, and challenges.
  • Mentor project engineers and junior project managers to support their growth and development.
  • Oversee project closeout, including punch lists, documentation, and warranty deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7โ€“10 years of experience as a Project Manager, with significant work in multi-family construction and additional experience in commercial projects.
  • Proven success managing large-scale projects from pre-construction to closeout.
  • Strong track record of collaborating effectively with superintendents and field teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building codes, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
  • OSHA certification and other industry credentials are a plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Clean driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Procore preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar construction software.
  • Strong financial, schedule, and risk management skills.
  • Excellent client service and relationship-building abilities.
