Job description

Senior Full-Stack Developer (.NET/C#) | Private Wealth Technology

The Private Wealth Technology team supports Neuberger's Private Wealth business, with a focus on exceptional advisor and client experiences. We're seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer (.NET/C#) to design, build, and operate scalable, high-performance applications and integrations across multiple wealth-management data domains.

This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, deep SQL/data skills, and the ability to work autonomously-driving delivery from requirements through production release and ongoing support.

What You'll Own

  • Design, build, and maintain internal applications and integrations with third-party platforms across the Microsoft technology stack.

  • Partner with Business and Operations stakeholders to gather requirements, document them clearly, and produce technical designs/specifications.

  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code; contribute to team standards through code reviews, patterns, and documentation.

  • Deliver end-to-end through the SDLC: design, development, testing coordination, release/deployment, and post-release validation.

  • Diagnose and resolve escalated production issues; improve reliability via monitoring, performance tuning, and root-cause remediation.

  • Contribute to platform modernization initiatives (e.g., upgrades, migrations, infrastructure improvements).

  • Manage multiple workstreams (new features, integrations, maintenance) by prioritizing effectively and communicating trade-offs.

  • Collaborate with engineers across the organization; participate in technical discussions to drive the best solution.

  • Proactively identify and drive improvements in performance, scalability, resiliency, and developer productivity.

  • Mentor junior developers through pairing, reviews, and technical guidance.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of professional software development experience and a BS/MS in Computer Science (or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in financial services; familiarity with Private Wealth/wealth management data domains strongly preferred.

  • Strong backend expertise in C#/.NET, including building and operating production services.

  • Advanced SQL and data skills: data modeling, analysis, and building/optimizing complex queries; experience with ETL/ELT concepts and tooling.

  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Snowflake, including query design and performance optimization.

  • Full-stack web development experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (jQuery where applicable).

  • Hands-on integration experience with REST and/or SOAP services; comfortable working with JSON/XML.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision: can take ambiguous problems, propose solutions, and drive them to completion.

  • Strong communication skills: able to explain technical concepts and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar) responsibly to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality.

  • High ownership and accountability for delivery quality and production outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deploying and operating distributed systems on Kubernetes, OpenShift, and/or Azure.

  • Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and event-driven or service-oriented architecture patterns.

  • Familiarity with Excel macros and VBA.

Tech Environment

  • Backend: C#/.NET

  • Database: Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake

  • Frontend: HTML/CSS/JavaScript (jQuery)

  • Integrations: REST/SOAP (JSON/XML)

  • Platform/Tooling: Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD; OpenShift/Kubernetes (preferred); Tableau (used in the broader ecosystem)

Location: New York City; hybrid with a minimum of two days per week in office.
