Job Description

Title: Linux Administrator + Scripting (Shell, Perl)

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 12  Months

Interview Mode: Phone + Skype

Start date: 2nd Week of Dec'14

Systems Administrator to maintain and monitor multiple servers and the applications running on the servers. Responsibilities cover operating system support (Linux) and management of AAA application software for carrier-grade Wifi networks.  This position is responsible for providing 24/7 Linux and application support on a rotating basis. The applicant must have strong communication skills and a vast knowledge in system troubleshooting and support.

Position Responsibilities:

    • Support of Wifi AAA environment.
    • Responsible for systems analysis, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
    • Infrastructure includes operating systems (Linux) and a mix of Open Source software and proprietary software.
    • Conducts design reviews, controls production, and implements and monitors systems.
    • Develop scripts for automating routine tasks.
    • Monitor servers and applications for errors and performance problems.
    • Coordinate with other internal groups to coordinate backups, event monitoring, and other services.
    • Apply updates, enhancements, and configuration changes to the Wifi AAA platform to meet business requirements.
    • Assist troubleshooting and development efforts for partners in the Wifi environment.

Qualifications:

    • BS or AS degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline and generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS and generally 2-4 years of experience in related field equivalent experience.  Will consider work experience in lieu of degree. 
    • Linux and/or Solaris skills (4-6 years systems administration).
    • Experience in a multi-tiered, distributed and diverse infrastructure a must
    • Must have experience in highly available, large-scale service provider environments.
    • Experience supporting enterprise applications, such as DNS/BIND servers, Web farms, or database farms.
    • System level programming in Shell/Perl scripting (1-3 years)
    • Fundamental networking skills and basic network troubleshooting skills (1-3 years).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work with minimal direction, yet able to work in a team environment.
    • A high level of experience in systems and network problem solving.
    • Advanced knowledge of OS troubleshooting, kernel tweaking and system automation.

Experience with the following considered a plus:
