Washington County is seeking a Systems Administrator to lead the management of our critical server environment, enterprise systems, and data infrastructure. This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting the technology that keeps county services running for employees and the public every day.  What You'll Do:As our Systems Administrator, you'll oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of the County's server infrastructure while serving as a technical leader within the Information Technology Department. You'll work on projects that directly impact County operations and mentor junior IT staff.Key responsibilities include:Administer Windows and Linux servers, virtual environments, and enterprise storage systems. Manage Active Directory, OpenLDAP, databases, internet domains, and server applications. Plan, implement, and maintain disaster recovery and backup solutions. Monitor system performance and recommend hardware and software improvements. Coordinate with IT staff on networking, security, firewalls, VPNs, and infrastructure planning. Provide advanced technical support and training to county employees. Evaluate new technologies and work with vendors to procure hardware and software. Supervise and mentor a Junior Systems Administrator.  Preferred qualifications include:Bachelor's degree in Systems Administration, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration or computer operations (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
