About the Role:

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and documentation of interfaces among Subway's internal systems and to external partner systems. Responsibility will include using the AWS platform to build API’s and integrations while working with other development teams across the organization to ensure high availability, accuracy, and performance.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Oversee the design, development and documentation of new or upgrade existing APIs as part of our Subway platform for internal and external integration.
  • Provide expertise and knowledge around integration strategies. Build and unit test integration components.
  • Work with the business sponsors to understand functional and technical requirements and develop architecture in support of those requirements.
  • Keep informed about the latest technological trends in the areas of integration, API management, data management platforms and marking automation.
  • Provide constructive code reviews and design guidance to team members.
  • Additional responsibilities may apply due to country, location, or department differences.

Qualifications (some examples listed below):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
  • Proficiency in two or more modern programming languages such as C#, Java, or JavaScript/Node.js
  • Familiarity with coding with AI such as Copilot, Claude, or other similar code assistants.
  • 5+ years’ experience developing production software, with excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for writing code along with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal/written communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Experience mentoring other engineers

Compensation: The base pay range for this role is $119,200 – 149,000 USD annually.

Pay within this range will be determined in good faith based on job-related factors, which may include skills, experience, education/training, location, and internal equity.
