About this position: Junior Software Developer Location - Dayton, OH

Wage/Salary Range: $90k - $120K

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assisting in the development, coding, testing, and debugging of software applications.
  • Responsible for collaborating with Product Owner(s), product team members, and senior developers to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Responsible for writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code in accordance with established coding standards and best practices.
  • Responsible for participating in code reviews and incorporating feedback to improve code quality and performance.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving issues in existing systems and applications.
  • Responsible for contributing to technical documentation including system design, user guides, and release notes.
  • Responsible to attend and participate in daily team meetings, execute assigned workload, and work within project management tools i.e. JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Responsible for applying a junior-level understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning concepts in software development tasks, including leveraging AI-assisted development tools, contributing to AI-enabled features, and supporting the integration of AI capabilities into applications under guidance of senior team members.
  • Responsible for maintaining awareness of emerging technologies and continuously improving technical skills.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • Level of Experience Requirements: Experience or familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as .NET, Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Familiarity with software development concepts including object-oriented programming (OOP).
  • Hold or have the ability to acquire a government security clearance; requires U.S. citizenship.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of databases and data structures (SQL or NoSQL).
  • Knowledge of web development frameworks or libraries (e.g., React, Angular, .NET, Spring) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts, AI-assisted development tools, or modern AI capabilities in software applications.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and defects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-paced development environment.
