The Availability Engineering product suite has an opening for a Software Engineer on the Availability Assurance Technical Triage team. This team is responsible for proactively identifying potential availability issues, collaborating with support teams to diagnose and resolve problems, recommending recovery actions, and sharing knowledge with owning teams to improve the resiliency of their products.
In this role, you will contribute to both availability assurance activities and software development efforts, including the design and enhancement of applications such as the Proactive Discovery Tool (PDT). The position offers opportunities to work across a broad range of technologies, participate in incident triage and root cause analysis, and help drive resiliency improvements across State Farm's IT landscape.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend, frontend, and full-stack features for PDT and other Availability Assurance applications.
• Design, implement, and support application modernization efforts, including migrating containerized workloads to cloud-native platforms such as ROSA/OpenShift.
• Support applications throughout their lifecycle, from requirements and implementation through monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers, product partners, and quality teams to deliver reliable, user-focused solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews and testing practices.
• Improve the performance, scalability, reliability, and observability of existing services.
