Programmer/Analyst-Senior Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Programmer/Analyst with GCP experience to support the development and ongoing enhancement of the Enterprise Payments platform. This role focuses on implementing cloud-native solutions across a Java backend (including REST API development), supporting event-driven payment processing, and ensuring application stability in production environments.

This role partners closely with IS Tech Specialists, architects, and business analysts to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available payment solutions while following established enterprise standards and best practices. The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on development skills, experience working in agile teams, and the ability to independently deliver features while escalating design decisions and complex issues to senior technical leaders as appropriate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain back‑end services using Java (e.g., Spring Boot). Design, build, and version RESTful APIs, including contract-first design, documentation, and integration testing within our payment’s ecosystem.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and can deliver solutions using GCP, CLI, services and integrations.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud‑native applications on GCP. Implement serverless and container‑based solutions using Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and/or GKE. Build and maintain APIs using Apigee or GCP API Gateway.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following enterprise standards.
  • Participate in incidents, problems, and change management processes. Provide production support, including scheduled on‑call rotation.
  • Work with offshore/onsite teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of technical and testing artifacts, including code, design documentation, and test deliverables, while ensuring all coding and testing guidelines prescribed by HNB are consistently followed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and can deliver solutions using DevSecOps tool chains and processes
  • Provides assistance in solving hardware or software problems. Diagnoses cause of complex technical problems like performance, availability, internal and external application integrations, databases, middleware, network, etc.
  • Possesses an in-depth knowledge of and works with the technical tools available for systems development and support. Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of technical industry trends, particularly as they apply to Huntington.
  • May assist with identifying training needs or with training of less experienced staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ year of related experience or qualified candidates who successfully complete Huntington’s Technical Youth training or a part of the apprenticeship training program, in lieu of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience developing and supporting cloud‑native applications on GCP. Strong proficiency in Java (Spring/Spring Boot) and GCP.
  • 3+ years of experience with GCP, AWS, and/or Azure
  • 3+ years of experience supporting IaC automation, preferably Terraform
  • 3+ years of coding/scripting experience, preferably Java
  • Experience building and supporting secure RESTful APIs and asynchronous, event‑driven integrations (OAuth2/OIDC or similar authentication approaches preferred)
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies and multiple platform environments, including GCP, AWS, Azure, IaC/Terraform, Agile delivery, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, cloud security, IAM, and policy validation using Terraform Validator, OPA, or Rego.Experience supporting enterprise‑scale payment or financial systems. Knowledge of payment processing concepts (ACH, checks, debit/credit/corporate cards, Zelle, bill pay, etc.)
  • Experience using monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Zenoss, Splunk, and log files to evaluate the health of mission critical production applications and to identify root causes for performance and functional issues.
  • Exposure to AI‑assisted development or automation tools.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
  • Ability to balance development and support responsibilities while partnering effectively with business segments, IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills; self-motivated problem solver who thrives in dynamic environments and contributes as a strong team player.
  • Card product and processing experience, expense management experience, and/or Financial Services industry experience.

The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position.
